Advice - Couple getting 'joint account' without linking names in credit history

Options
Hi everyone,

I would be very grateful if you could help me. My boyfriend and I want to get a joint bank account so that we can pool a percentage of our wages. However, we don't want to get a joint account because this will link our credit histories.

What is the best solution? I was going to open a second bank account in my name that he just pays into and we use for bills etc. Is this the best solution? And if so, which is the best bank for a second account?

Thank you :)

Generally, it doesn't have to be a joint account for "pooling a percentage of wages". Yes, a sole account can do the job.

The only other solution without creating a financial association is a prepaid card offering 2+ cards for one account, but it can't be used for DD payments.

A best bank for a second account is the same as the best one for the first. In fact, it can be with the same bank.
