Failed courier delivery

Recently I ordered an 'online only' item from Argos. I paid for the item in-store using a combination of payment methods and printed on the Argos receipt was stated that delivery would be made within 2 days.
Following this, I ensured I stayed home off work until such time the delivery was made - today. The first contact I had from the courier company was yesterday saying the item would be delivered the following day - which it was.
The item was ordered on 24 March. Strangely, the receipt also had printed on it 'we will contact you to arrange delivery before the 24 March'.
I've read the guide on missed courier deliveries and am looking to claim back lost wages from Argos. My laptop unfortunately wouldn't allow me to open the template letter. Would someone kindly be able to please copy/paste it to this thread? Also does anyone know my entitlements from Argos?
Thanks

Entitlements being legal rights, I am referring to.

I suspect it was meant as two working days for delivery and that was it was 'delayed' due to the Easter weekend.

Did you see this thread - linked to from MSE's Failed Delivery article?
What word processing program do you use?

Your entitlements are spelt out in that Failed Delivery document.
Simply, you are entitled to what you have agreed with the seller and have paid for.
Is there anything in particular that you are ensure about?

What did you agree with the retailer, or what does the receipt actually say?

You ordered on the Thursday before a bank holiday. It was never going to be there within 2 days (1 working day if they count Saturday as a working day)

I'd have expected it Tuesday or Wednesday (if the delivery was within two days) when did they try and deliver

The receipt stated delivery would be made within 2 days - not 'working' days.

Appreciate there was a bank holiday. I've had courier packages delivered on Sundays before and once at midnight so nothing surprises me.

Sorry I cannot help you then.
Perhaps try the Techie Board or finding an application that can read RTF files.

This is what wealdroam was linking to I believe:

Re: the receipt.....tbh I'm not sure your claim for costs of taking additional time off would succeed for a few reasons. Most obvious being that it typically only applies where delivery is scheduled for a specific date/day rather than within a certain timeframe.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

Without reading any links, I can tell you that Argos won't be paying your wages…
