Help me find a room in Rome for our first DW in ages!

Wonderful friends are having our wonderful kids for the weekend in a couple of weeks time:j so OH has decided to whisk me off for a DW in Rome:D:D:D:D:D:D

Flights booked on Ryanair already, but if you could help me find a decent room, I'd be grateful.

Details are

budget: max £100 per night
dates:21st-23rd Sept
want a location in easy walking distance of the sites (we do intend going out sightseeing some of the time!)
don't mind if it's a hotel/b+b...breakfast in the rate isn't too important.

Go on Moneysavers, do your stuff!

Huge thanks!!!!!

Probably worth doing a search on here and Trip Advisor, but can recommend Marcella Royal, - very reasonable but good value...has a bar on the roof, great at night after a hard days walking round!

We did 4 nights there, was 680 Euros for us during Sept 2004. Lots to see!

    I've been Money Tipped!
Have searched for rome on here this morning and majority of hotels recommended are all booked as far as I can see from my searches.

Hence me asking people to help me find a decent available room within our budget.

I had to read your post twice before I worked out what a DW was.

You lucky thing!!! I want people to offer to look after my children..........it's not fair!!!

Have a fabulous time...it's not like you'll be stepping much outside the room :rotfl:
  • Can't help about a hotel room, cos we took up 2 rooms in a hostel when we (5) went in March. However, I had looked at Hotels, and breakfast was prtty much a basic Continental one, so not worth stressing about. Also we stayed near Termini Station, which proved useful in terms of connecting with the Terravision bus to Ciampino at 7.30am! Also. you can walk to all the sites from there, and catch the express to the Vatican. On a weekend, I suggest a sightseeing bus that you can jump on and off around Rome - ps mind the cars AND the mopeds!
