Hi,
I have a pdf file which I am trying to open but it says its corrupted, is there anywhere where I can then open the file as normal at all?
I have tried everything, but nothing works.
Many thanks
James

Hi,
I am unable to download the pdf again as it is not available online.
I am using Windows 7 and have the latest Adobe pdf update on my laptop as it only updated a few days ago.
It wont open the PDF as says file is not supported or corrupted.
Thanks

Then it really does sound like a corrupted or invalid PDF.
One regular cause of this is receiving an email with an attached 'pdf' invoice/bank credit/tax return/whatever and it's really a virus/malware in disguise. What's the provenance of the PDF?0 -
Hi,
It should be ok, it was an auction catalogue from France which I want to work as the auctioneers wont send me the sale catalogue in the post when I have offered to pay all the charges and postage for it as well.
Many thanks

So, presumably, it's a .pdf attached to an e mail?
Have you tried 'saving' it, on your desktop perhaps, and then opening it from there?
I use Foxit to read all my .pdf's

Would it be worthwhile you downloading that to see if that would work?
(other pdf readers are available)
I also use Libre Office to read/write documents (other document readers are available) and it can open my .pdf's0 -
You could try with a different viewer such as Nitro, but I suspect you'll need to ask the auction house to try sending it again. Or you could set up a Dropbox folder and ask them to upload it.

Is it a pdf for Windows? - I only say this, because I got an e-mail at work today which had 2 folders and each had the same documents in it. Both contents looked the same pdf's but one folder was labelled for Mac and one for Windows. I didn't know there was a difference before as I've only ever used Windows on a PC.0

Hi,
The message which comes up is as follows:-
Adobe Reader could not open prunier 060216.pdf because it is either not a supported file type has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)
I have saved it to my desktop and have tried numerous times to get the pdf to open but have had no joy unfortunately. It is really annoying.
I have contacted the auction house asking them to email me over the pdf but they never reply to me.0 -
Sounds like incompetence at the auction house end if they don't want to send a replacement pdf for a corrupted one.0
