Hi
My landlord is selling the flat I rent I have lived here throughout my IVA. I am trying to find a new flat however today 4 agencies told me that do not accept people with an IVA like I was dirt on their show. I have a full time job and have been in the same job for 18 years.
I need a flat to rent I can afford it I just joined noodle and found my credit report as 557. does anyone know any other free credit reports I can join so I can see if I can get a flat .If I print these reports off will estate agents let me rent.
I only have £3980 to pay on my IVA

Try clearscore they are also free.
You can also get experian and equifax for free on a 30 day trial - just join print off your report and cancel before the trail ends.
You may be better looking for a private landlord not through an agency, friends or work collegues etc who can vouch for you. Does your current landlord know anyone and can they provide you a good reference?
Some agencies will rent to you but will want 3-6 months rent up front, if you have this then maybe make them an offer.
A friend also couldnt pass the credit check for renting due to bankcruptcy, his agency said if he can get a co-signer who has good credit it will get him a yes which is what he did, he got his dad to co-sign.
Have you read about the credit file clean up thread? Make sure everything on your file is correct.
Can a friend or relative not loan you 4k so you can settle the IVA and you repay them £333 a month for next 12 months (same length as IVA remaining) or any other loan etc.0 -
I have asked a few agents about gaurentors they are not interested even though I'm renting at the minute and have been throughout my iva. My mum said she would pay my iva off but I'm guessing I will have to wait ages for it to be off my file . I did experian and my credit score was 979 lol my iva was not even on it so that shows how crap they are. I also did noddle my credit was 557 but I have no idea what agency these estate agents use0

There will be landlords out there who will rent to you, it is just a case of finding them.
Further, your I.P. should be more than happy to write a reference for you provided you have complied with the terms and conditions of your IVA, and may even be prepared to allow you a payment break on your IVA so that you can put down more as a deposit or advance payment, which you can then make up at the end.0 -
Thanks
I cant find any on Right move etc . What a night mare this is you have debt and you manage it yet no one wants to rent to you. If I didn't have a debt plan and was in debt I could rent.0 -
It is nonsensical when you think about it.
They would rather you had shed loads of debt and were paying it than taking a responsible route to debt freedom. Same with BR and DRO's, with those you have no debt at all so logically it is more likely that you will pay your rent as you have no debt to worry about.0 -
Hi
You could try looking on local classified adverts and websites like Gumtree as not all landlords will run a credit check if you contact them directly. I think letting agents will be likely to credit check as a standard procedure.
