Car history checks

Hello everyone.
I am looking for a second hand car and I will therefore be doing quite few history checks to find the right one.
I have used https://www.totalcarcheck.com so far but I just found this cheaper alternative https://www.mycarcheck.com.
It doesn't give all the same info but it gives me the essentials, (all the stuff about the engine cc etc I already know).
So my question is, can you guys recommend a good MSE friendly history check website? One that beats £1.99 a car?

Actually, on closer inspection this second website doesn't report on outstanding finance. :mad:0

I always thought that the only one to use was
https://www.hpi.co.uk/home/
and all others were pretenders to the throne.0 -
Whoa that is an expensive one Jim! And it doesn't seem to give any more info than the Total car check one.0

When it comes to history checks that could save you from spending many thousands of pounds on a duff car with a hidden history, it is worth spending the money on a proper HPI check. The other options are all compromises in one or more ways and none come with the benefits of a full HPI check.
But it's your money, your risk.0 -

Yes it does. Your closer inspection couldn't have been that close :rotfl:All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.0 -
HPI is expensive for a reason, it works and they offer cover if they get it wrong.
Save money and cross your fingers that your cheap check got it wrong and your seriously out of pocket.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

But how do you know if what you are paying for is a "proper" check or just an over inflated rip-off? I thought I would seek a little friendly advice from the money savvy people here.0 -

That's why I'm asking for advice here!!! These forums have become a very hostile place, I thought they were about helping each other to avoid being scammed by unscrupulous businesses, not to get sarcastic, judgmental comments! :mad:0 -

It's not sarcastic, we are telling you to use hpi.0
