Waiting for lender to approve drainage report

We are in the process of buying our first property. Having used a broker to find the best deal we chose to go with nationwide for our mortgage. It took forever to get the mortgage offer and we were then under the impression that everything was ready to go. We were then told that nationwide were yet to approve the drainage report. The vendor wanted to complete by the end of the month so our broker spoke to nationwide who said they'd push it through as urgent. That was last Thursday and they still haven't contacted the solicitors.

Nationwide have had the report since the 14th. Is this in anyway normal? Does it mean they might take back the mortgage offer?

I'm all ready to move and very confused and frustrated can anyone shed some light on this?

Who instructed the drainage report? It's unlikely it was Nationwide...

As far as I'm aware the solicitors instructed it and sent it to nationwide. Is that not normal? As a first time buyer I'm feeling pretty much in the dark...

    Whose solicitors?

The norm would be for NW to carry out a valuation survey and that's it. Anything over and above that would normally only be requested by you the purchaser.
