address on licence can't changed?

Postcodes changed years ago but didn't update licence. Tried to update licence but when i put in old code(very similar to new) it comes up with current address again and says old address same as new! Does it matter, am i illegal or how do I get round it?

I would ring up the DVLA and ask their advice, I've found them quite helpful when I've needed to contact them.

I wouldn't bother. If anyone wrote to you at the old postcode, presumably it would find its way to you, wouldn't it?

That happened to me. I didn't bother updating until I moved house

Change the licence to another address and then when it arrives change it back.

Put a covering letter with the completed change of address section, explaining the postcode is wrong and why, try and include a contact daytime phone number in case they want to speak to you to confirm anything.
