I am another who does this with spreadsheets, lots of different pots for different things.
I tried You Need A Budget but it didnt work for me, I think I am just too set in my ways with my spreadsheets.0 -
I am a pots and envelopes person,i get paid weekly leave in my diect debits and take out the rest. gas bottle money /week in 1 tin,food in food purse,pay electric in an envelope have a tin with santa on it money goes in there each week for Christmas,mot envelope,birthday envelope,sons money box for his bank gets emptied once a month and lodged in his saver account. and a credit union account monthly envelope which gets lodged when I near it. it works for me as I hate cards even debit card only used for weekly withdrawl. as ten years ago I had 3 credit cards and its only last year I cleared them NEVER AGAIN!!!! I only use what I have now ,its hard at times but I get there hth xxxC.R.A.P.R.O.L.L.Z #7 member N.I splinter-group co-ordinater

Well done to craigwv for 'seeing the light' with c/cards ,so easy to spend on them as it doesn't seem like 'real' money .whereas if you have the cash in your hand and it starts to disappear you know its time to stop spending
I only ever use my M&S card to buy my diesel or big things as I get points on it which add up over the year but I always pay it off asap and never owe anything on it so no interest gets paid
:):) I save the vouchers from M&S and either treat myself or use it to buy Christmas presents with
