I reckon if you can get away with £500 to £600 a year spent on maintenance for a ten year old car then it's worth keeping it.0

What are steering rods? Steering-arms or track-rods? Track rods are about £15 a pair.0

As everyone says, keep it, as it is maintinig something you 'know'.

Most of those costs would be there regardless of whether it was this car or another one........... I'm failing to see the logic.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Once the cambelt has been done it doesn't need done for many years.
I would look into having the gearbox serviced by a reputable Autobox place though, I assume it's the AL4 box, I don't know much about Auto Citroens to be fair other than to make sure you service the AL4 box properly.0 -
As said your next problem might be gearbox related, so if your indi is satisfied the car is ok and not just a money taker, then i too would say use it till it stops SNEEZES OR THE WHEELS FALL OFF0
