Just saved almost £400 on car insurance renewal
Options
My wife has her own driving school and her insurance is due for renewal. So as you do you look for cheaper car insurance, baring in mind the renewal was £865 with 2 years NCD with her present insurer, I searched different providers and was getting quotes varying from £705 to £1256. I came across an independent specialist in all forms of insurance and they came back with a quote of £750 and I said its more than I've been quoted, where he asked if my wife has been a named driver on my policy because they can give a maximum of 4 years NCD if I can provide proof that she wasn't involved in any claims during the time she was a named driver from July 2012 to July 2014, where I went to my provider of insurance if they could provide me of proof on no claims being made during the time she was insured as a named driver from 07/2012 to 07/2014, and they are sending me confirmation of this. I contacted the new insurer and they can insure my wife when they receive the confirmation of no claims and the new premium is £488. What a difference from the original renewal quote and quote with new insurer without the NCD. So even being named as a named driver can help you save money. woo hoo:j

Find the paperwork comes back saying she is a 50 year old vicar who lives in a small village and only allowed to use the car to visit sick people and drive 100 yards to church on Sunday.
Are you sure they dont want your no claims to transfer over?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
If she was renewing her insurance did she not have a NCB of her own on her own insurance.0

From the OP's description this must be driving tuition insurance, which is a very specialised field with a small number of insurers. I'm not sure any experience there can be applied to 'normal' motor insurance.0
