Returns & Refunds

Hi everyone,

I posted on here at the beginning of the month about a ebay purchase that was not as described.
In the end I opened a returns request and have been following the process ever since.

The seller appears to be stringing the request on by only responding right at the last minute before I am able to escalate to Ebay. He had to refund by the 29th. On the 28th I received a direct message from him saying that he had now refunded me and he hoped that it would be the end of the issue.

Only it doesn't appear that he has refunded through the returns request as it is still in the item delivered back status. I paid through Paypal using my debit card, so understand that it can take a few days for the refund to clear. But if he had refunded should I have received some kind of refund pending notification through Ebay and Paypal?

I get the feeling this is just another delaying tactic to stop me from escalating to Ebay.

Just escalate and let him worry about it.

Agree with the above. As a seller you know how it feels when there is a problem and want a buyer to give you a chance to resolve. However you have given them a chance and if they aren't willing to sort it, then let Ebay sort it out for you.
  • Thank you Soolin and Mrcol1000 for your replies. I will escalate to Ebay.
  • I would just like to thank Soolin & Mrcol1000 for their help yesterday.

I escalated the return to an ebay case yesterday and have received notification this morning that I won it. My refund (whilst not yet cleared) is now showing as a transaction in Paypal.

I've now left him negative feedback 'Seller sold used item as brand new, I had to wait nearly month for refund'.

    Thanks.
