Wheelbolts are torqued up to around 110-130Nm, depending on the car, it should undo them no problem, 330Nm is over 200ftlb, which is very tight indeedI want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

The quoted figures on these things are to be taken with a pinch of salt.
Sounds though like op is using the wrong sockets on his particular wheel. Probably has an alloy with the nuts set in deep so needs a deeper socket not just a standard depth one that wont reach0 -

I wonder if a bolt that is torqued to 100Nm on fastening, allowed to remain for a few thousand miles and then undone, maybe the torque required to undo a bolt is greater than the torque that was used to fit it.?0 -

Yes. Bolts seize. Exposed to the elements and often end up requiring significant torque0 -

Maybe we should try it out and see what the required torque is to undo them. What is worse is I think the Corsa wheelbolts are torqued to only 85Nm0 -
I prefer corded to cordless, all that battery expense and charging hassle... but there are few and far between corded impact wrenches.
Wig; this one is good; it's the one I have:

Just to dispel a myth there - whilst my cordless IW was supplied with two batteries, I've never actually run one flat and *had* to change it/charge it in the middle of a job. I keep both batteries charged and when one needs charging, it'll be done long before I've run the other 5Ah battery flat, ready to use again. Also means I can change wheels at the side of the road without needing to get a puncture near a power outlet0 -
My cordless one goes flat over a month; it is designed to to cycle the battery. So it usually means it is flat when I want to use it; hence I prefer corded too plus the corded one has bags of power that the battery one does not.0

Really? I could (rarely do) leave mine a month without any change in battery capacity. My old NiCad cordless IW would go flat over time, but the Li-ion packs on the current one don't seem to self-discharge.0
