Hi, I want to close my barclaycard account, but I was wondering would it still show up on the Barclays app with my other accounts? Just so I can keep check of it? Many thanks

Do you have an outstanding balance or does it currently stand at zero?
I'm only asking because I closed my Barclaycard Initial last week with a nil balance and it's now longer visible on the Barclays Bank mobile app. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
A lot of posters on here have said in the past that Barclaycard used to offer up to £50 for you NOT to close the card.
Might be worth considering.0 -

WHY would you want a closed account to continue to show up on the Barclays app? Why would you want to keep check of a closed account? Thanks for the replys. I owe money, i really want to just close it as i need to pay of my debt and have no self control :-(
I assume that you are actually planning to settle the full balance of the account before attempting to close it?
To close the account:
1. Cease using the card for any further transactions.
2. Wait until all pending transactions appear.
3. Repay full balance so that balance shows as 0..
4. Await next statement which will be either 0 or will be for an amount of trailing interest.
5. If applicable, repay full amount of this statement before due date.
6. Contact Barclaycard. Close account.
The account will then be CLOSED. There will be NOTHING to keep track of. It will in due course be removed from online banking and the mobile app.
Any attempt to close the account until the balance is repaid in full would be ill advised and will have undesirable consequences.0
