Hi, I was just wondering if anyone experienced fluorescent tube lights making a buzzing noise after a couple of years, is there anything I can do to fix it or do I have to replace the whole unit.
Thanks
Thanks

Usually it is the ballast inside that starts to buzz,it as a rectangular block mainly made of metal inside the cover. You can replace it but sometimes getting the wires out of it can be tricky. Replacing it with a modern electronic one should guarantee buzz free operation for years

Probably cheaper just to replace the whole fitting though.0 -
It is actually cheaper to buy a new fitting, than it is to buy a replacement ballast(it is the ballast that makes the buzzing sound by the way)0
