Kitchen extraction... have i any options?

Hi everyone,
Im looking for some advice as im not sure what options i have...
I have a large 13kw multi fuel stove cited on an internal wall in the kitchen. It is supplied with adequate ventilation from the wall opposite via a through wall vent.
My problem isnt this but it is the cooking..smells/steam/grease etc are very difficult to deal with as there is no working kitchen hood or any way of extraction.
Im aware of the regulations in regards to stoves above 5kw and extract fans being in the same room which makes life even harder.
Is there anything that can be done as a workaround to this?I am careful about putting lids on pans etc but Itd be nice to have some sort of extraction when cooking as even with the window open the whole kitchen is filling with steam and running down the walls.
Many thanks

i think you can still have an extractor fan in the same room as a stove as long as you do a spillage test in line with the british standard to prove that it's okThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

Multi fuel stoves etc only work efficiently if *chimney system is capable of generating adequate up draught to induce sufficient air for efficient combustion
If draught created by extractor is greater than draught generated by appliance products of combustion will be drawn into the room (not good) But you can fit extractors but you’ll often have to increase the size of ventilation or fit a chimney/vent fan a to counteract the effects of the extractor fan
You’re not really going too get a definitive answer on a forum with limited information your best bet would be ask stove manufactures first then appropriate installers but it’s normally quite expensive and doesn’t particularly work well at removing smells ?
Some people use microwaves with external extractor system but again expensive and sort of defeats the point of the stove? Although stoves look pretty, maybe cheaper to use than other systems they certainly have there draw backs which funnily enough they don’t highlight in the brochures…0 -

thankyou... i will contact charnwood to discuss.
I can assure you i certainly dont have a stove to 'look pretty'. its a workhorse here providing heating to 8 rads and a heat sink plus domestic hot water in a completely off grid property.Even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day, and for once I'm inclined to believe Withnail is right. Is there no combined solution to this problem that provides balanced extraction and flow for combustion?0

The location of my stove doesnt help either. Because there is no external wall anywhere near the stove (only ones are on the opposite wall) there is no option to directly feed an air supply into the stove or duct a supply closeby which would greatly reduce the likelihood of any 'pull' from an extractor fan
I did briefly look into recirculation extractors, but on the face of it they look like an expensive waste of timeEven a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day, and for once I'm inclined to believe Withnail is right. We are indeed drifting into the arena of the unwell.0 -
There may be if you change the stove - fit a room sealed one. But while they don't require ventilation, I'm not sure if regs still disallow them in a room with extract (they are allowed in a room with input though for whole house ventilation). But assume that's not a possibility.0
