Experian - opening accounts affecting credit rating

I've opened 4 bank accounts recently. No overdrafts requested or required.
Why does it say I have opened 3 new CREDIT accounts and
You have made 4 CREDIT applications in the last 6 month?
Experian Representative would be appreciated as this is factually incorrect.
Any other comments also welcome
Thanks

Presumably you opened 4 Basic accounts then (with no ability to request overdraft facilities), and not 4 Standard accounts (with ability to request overdraft facilities)?
Which lender's rating of your credit profile are you implying has been affected?0 -
They are correct, it is how experian show that info but if you drill down in the report you will see current account to and probably the same for the searches although depending on credit provider they may show enquiry.
Just because you did not ask for an overdraft with the accounts you can still go into one hence credit checked and scored.

Thanks for your reply. No need to lay the sarcasm on so thickly re the lender though -
I thought that if you declined the offer of the overdraft facility it would not be deemed as credit - same bank/account for too many years so lacking your skillset on that one. Appreciate your input though, thanks.0 -

Yes the soft/hard searches etc I expected, just did not realise that the accounts - all without the offered o/draft facilty - would be classified as a credit account - perhaps stupidly, but I genuinely did not, lol.
It's not the end of the world, but thanks for clearing it up - much appreciated :beer:0
