The AA or A&L - which one?

Which one would people recommend?

I applied for the AA online account but they did not send my username through. I finally gave up and applied to the A & L. Now both have sent the information

I'm not sure which one to choose and would appreciate other peoples view on both Societies.

Thanks

Depends on what you want .... ;)

The AER for the AA is 5.31% - including a bonus of 0.6% for the first year. So that suggests that the "real" AER is 4.71%

The AER for the A&L is 5.35%.

Using AER only, A&L looks better. I have this account and have had no problems with it. On current rates, you'll earn more interest with A&L.

I would stick with the A&L 5.35% account, especially if you have £25K or less to deposit. The AA account has a headline rate of 5.31%, which falls steeply after one year. Do you really want the hassle of moving your money about once the bonus expires?
