  • Morning ((((((((((hugs))))))))))if you need one.

Wind has dropped and the sun keeps coming and going. Laundry and the delayed Monday clean to do, should not take too long.

Quilting group this week, OH's sitter cannot come, so I am going to have to leave him and hope for the best. OH has to get a 48 hour monitor fitted Friday, we have to take it back on Sunday and will then go on to see my quilting friend as we are halfway there.

    Time to get going.......bye..........

    Good morning everyone :hello:

I had a lovely lie in this morning after getting up at 4am. Hubby came down about 5.30 and I sat with him for half an hour then my eyes were drooping so I went back to bed, I didn't wake up then till 9am :D.

Hubby was a bit stressed as the buses have changed from today as he was worried about getting into work but I haven't heard anything so I am going to assume it's all gone ok. If it works out, he will be home a good half hour earlier which will be lovely.

The girls are all tucked up fast asleep. DD14 dyed her hair a dark brown yesterday so she really looks like her sisters now. I have to look twice to see which one of them is talking to me :rotfl:.

We had a lovely long weekend, really chilled but I managed to get some stuff sorted out. Hubby sorted out the freezers and I took an inventory so I now know where everything is. We definitely have enough food to last for a long while so I can ease up on the shopping. The girls rearranged some of the kitchen cupboards for me to make it easier for me to get out baking equipment which was really helpful. There was very little argueing either which was refreshing, in fact they are getting along much better the older they get. I am still hopeful they will have a great relationship with each other when they are all grown up.

I don't have much to do today, I want to make a pie at some point, I think I will wait for DD13 to get up as she loves cooking and it will be good for her to see how one is made. She can help too with the chopping up and decorating the finished product. I think I will be knitting again and hopefully finishing off the bunny to send to my friend's daughter as she is currently in hospital.

Well, I hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx

    Afternoon all,

Well we've had snow and hail so far today,& the temp has dropped since i was out this morning but its sunny now.Its gone a bit dark in the kitchen as snow/hail has covered the glass roof over the extension.

I've been busy takingout the staples and leather cover off a dining chair-I'm going to have a go at recovering one myself with some fabric I already had.If its no good then theres nothing lost,it wasnt fit for purpose as it was anyway.I need to get the pieces apart to get the pattern so I've found a Stanley knife and will get cracking after I've finished my cuppa.

I've got some ham & sweecorn chowder on the go in the pressure cooker using the stock and bits from the gammon joint yesterday. The gammon itself was lovely and tender ,a big joint I got reduced after Xmas so there's lots left

DGS is apparently a bit better,he's on holiday with his Mum all week,so I have the day off today when I usually mind him but I've missed his cheeky little face.Didnt get to see DGD either yesterday-she was so tired after DS2 had taken her swimming she wanted to go back to her Mummy's house. She is doing really well with her swimming and has just got her 25m badge, which I think is pretty good for a 4 year old so I'm a proud Gran :D

Right, better see what my upholstery skills are like :rotfl:then I can clean up before the men get home, surprised they're not back already as they are working outside, poor things. Not ideal when DS was so rough with his chest infection last week.

Gers sorry to hear you are still waiting for news, you must be on pins so hope you hear soon x
    Have a good afternoon x

Determined not to be caught out I was dressed ready for builders to arrive this morning. The electrician was going to arrive tomorrow to fix the new fire and lights but as had not ordered things with being away it had to be changed to the day after. I spent a couple of hours online and have a next day delivery of a modern hang on wall fire, living room central light and two matching wall lights and two crystal beaded ceiling lights for the bedroom. I even got free delivery. :j

We found out yesterday that the built in multifuel stove had not been put in properly or capped so at least that is now sorted. It is getting to the stage I dread doing anything because I will find something has already been done wrong by previous owner yet at least this way I am finding and correcting stuff.

Youngest dd thinks her interview went well and she is really impressed with the company so hoping things go well for her.

Cold here with windows and doors open so as soon as builders have gone I will be wrapped up with huge mug of a hot drink.

    Hugs to all

    Afternoon all.

Car is sorted, a slow journey north but not too much on the road so I only had to pull over three times to let other cars past. A few quid less in my pocket now but I'm pleased that I didn't buy anything else apart from fuel.

We had a heavy hailstorm about an hour ago and it's left the back garden covered in piles of it. Just odd.

I've heard a whisper (unconfirmed as yet) that my nephew's body may be released tomorrow with a funeral on Monday. Nothing I can do about booking flights yet but it's at least some kind of news.

The woodburner is on today and I've had a wee snooze on the sofa this afternoon already! I've had some lettuce leaves filled with cream cheese, tomato and chicken for lunch and feel very full now. Perhaps another snooze after my busy weekend??

Thankfully the flooding in the field (linear park adjacent to the balancing lake) has subsided, so we were able to take Jack for his usual constitutional round the Roman ruins this afternoon.

Mr LW has kindly dusted the lounge.:A He even got the orange oil polish and did my walking sticks with it (one is coppiced hazel, the other is a hazel root) which was above and beyond the call of duty. :rotfl:

Jack isn't allowed leftovers, but he is allowed a bit of raw carrot if it's being prepared for the human meal; so we've made a Shepherd Spy today, with lots of carrot in, so that Jack could have the "tops and tails". :D
