Soundbar cutout

I have a new Samsung JU6800 with a Roth Bar 2LX connected with an optical cable. The problem is whenever I watch something that has moments of quieter sound in. Like if someone is walking along a beach and the background sound is just the sound of waves the volume cuts out. It comes back on when something louder happens on screen. If I turn the soundbar off and play it back through the tv speakers, it's fine. I have returned the soundbar to Roth who have sent a pre-tested soundbar back out. It still happens.

It's most likely some sort of volume normalisation or perhaps it has a poor noise flaw and cuts out at low volume so that you don't hear that noise.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Is there an economy mode that turns it off if it thinks there's no sound? I'm not a techie, but my LG sound bar turns itself off after a few minutes of no sound - if I'm browsing through an app for something to watch it will turn itself off, but then normally comes back on when the programme starts playing. Works on all apps on my TV apart from I-player for some reason - I actually have to pick up the remote to turn it back on again.0

It goes into standby after about 15 mins. Am not sure whether it's the tv or soundbar thoughYellowlawn
