Draughty Windows

I had new double glazing fitted last year, but when it's windy outside, I can see the window blinds moving inside.
I've had the window company back and they said they had fixed it. I said that they're still letting in the wind. They've now said it's a manufacturing problem and will get back to me. This is nearly 2 months. Today, with Storm Katie I can feel the draught and the curtains are moving. I don't believe there is a problem with the windows, but with how they're fitted.
I've contacted their insurance company, but they say I have to wait until they do the repair.
Instead of waiting on the window company to make a decision and admission, I am wondering if there is a body/company I can approach to do a survey of the windows and give me a report to send to the company and if not, how would I get these windows refitted properly before the next storm pays us a visit. Is this something for Trading Standards. Any help/advice appreciated. TIA.

  • You could try FENSA the regulatory body for Windows. I'd try to see where the draft is coming from, I.e through an opener etc or from around the window. Using a joss stick to see how the smoke reacts. If it's from around the window it's an installation issue.
  • It is from around the window. I can feel it when I put my hand in that area.

Do you mean around the window, or around the frame?

Smiley Dan it's the window. When it's closed the most draught is from the side attached to the frame. Not as much from the opening side.

Normally they'll be able to alter the geometry of the windows. In most cases you could probably do it yourself with a hex (allan) key. But given they should've done it right in the first place, get 'em back, it's not acceptable.
