Charging a mobile using USB3 lead

Simple question :
I have a USB3 lead and charge my Galaxy S4 using it - from the mains (usong a standard adapter plug).
If I charge it - from a USB3 socket on my PC - Will it charge any faster than from the mains ?
I am aware that a USB3 lead uses a heavier gauge conductor than USB2 - But is it the source (USB3 Socket vs Mains) that makes the difference or will it be exactly the same ?

and how much current does a phone draw ?0 -
You charge it from the mains!
Or do you mean a charger plugged into the mains?
IIRC usb 3.0 supplies about 1000 mA compared to usb 2.0 which is 500 mA.
What does your mains charger supply?
If more than 1000 mA....... I'll let you work it out.
All figures are approximate.Move along, nothing to see.0 -

From an adapter - plugged into a wall socket - in my house - which is fed via the local power cables and several substations and the national grid - from a power station - which may or may not be in this country and in any case - is not specifically feeding my supply alone !!0 -
It's worth mentioning Quick Charge 2 and Quick Charge 3 compatible phones and chargers.

I'm tempted to suggest that the USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 sockets would take about the same time to charge an equally-discharged phone, because they both run at 5 V.
Any contradictory views?0 -
