So what you guys are saying is that it is outlook.com that is classifying the emails as junk before thunderbird gets them.
So its outlook.com putting them in the thunderbird junk mail folder ???
So its the outlook.com junk mail setting that need altering ??
    Or am I misunderstanding........
    Thanks for you help.

Possibly. I use GMX, which tries to identify spam and put it in a folder called "Spam". Thunderbird also tries to identify spam and puts it in a folder called "Junk".

I don't know how Outlook email accounts work, but maybe something similar is happening... Or maybe Outlook uses a folder called "Junk" too, so your Junk folder is partly made up of messages tagged by Outlook, and partly those tagged by Thunderbird...?

As I said previously that's not what happens on my Thunderbird, in fact I don't even have a Junk folder.

Looking in Account Settings I see that there is a Junk Settings tab, in which you can tell TBird what to do with mail that is marked as Junk, which includes the option to move it automatically to a Junk (or other) folder. That's unticked on my set up, which is why the Junk mail stays in my Inbox.

I don't know whether that option is enabled on the OP's system, or whether it applies to mail marked as Junk before it reaches TBird, but it's probably worth checking.
