its not the whole story but its certainly a big part. theres an element of bias as well with our views as clearly you have done well out of property and would attribute this less to luck and more to skill.

i haven't done as well (athough i am roughly half your age) and based on my experiences i would say luck is a big part (although certainly not the whole part).

I'm not sure whether I believe all that you post. I noticed when you came on the "debate house prices" board you seemed to get straight onto the case of Chuck.

Bit odd considering you are new to this board. Then I check your previous posts and in 1 thread you are asking for advice regarding investments for your children

    Hi

I would like to setup a discretionary trust to put my pension in after I pass away. The trustee would be my children who are also the beneficiaries.

The purpose of this is to manage inheritance tax.

Can anyone advice how I can set this up - cheap as possible pls!

    thanks

Then next thread you are stating the polar opposite...
I am single and do not plan to have children (already made up my mind).

Just makes me suspicious of you......

I would describe it as more as judgement than skill, the main reason that I came down to London (from Newcastle) in 1990 was that London properties were so cheap, and the yield was so high, that you could buy and rent, and cover the costs in year 1.

There is something about you that doesn't quite fit though, I can't quite put my finger on what it is, but I know there is something that is not right.

With respect, that is total b*llocks, we all have the opportunity to control our own destiny. But obviously luck plays some part in all our lives, but very rarely is it the whole story.

You can't call something total b*llocks and then admit it's somewhat true.

I think it's fair to say our early experiences combined with our DNA essentially make us who we are and I think it's fair also to say that is more down to chance than anything else.
Proudly voted remain. A global union of countries is the only way to commit global capital to the rule of law.

Chance plays and determines the biggest part in our life stories

Just think back on your life there must have been multiple points in your life road where if you took decision x instead of y you would be in a completely different place. Or even things that happened to you with no decision on your part.

I'm not saying that you are lying, again you seem confused about what has been stated. When did I say that you lied?
