GTA V which platform console is best

Hi which platform would you get GTA V on?
I have a PS2 with San Andreas that I loved and even completed 100%.
Now I haven't played it for years but have a desire to play GTA V and am swaying towards Playstation again instead of Microsoft Xbox or PC.
Think I will sell the PS2 but which console is best, I'm guessing the PS4 is best.

It's a personal choice, there's a few threads on here with the "which is best console" thread.
Do you know anyone else with a PS4 or an Xbox One, can you test either 1 out ?
You interested in other games on the PS4 ?0 -
Thanks I only know someone with PS3. I don't think I'd be interested in other games, just GTA V
Will sell the PS2, and maybe save up for a PS4 I think.

I have an Xbox One and have no bad things to say about it, but the PS4 is the more popular choice with other gamers, depends on what you'd want though0

I've played it on PS3 and PS4, and seen it on XBone - nothing between them. Graphics and gameplay aren't noticeably different. Don't get a console based on just one game. The PS4 is very good and has all the extra's that you expect with a playstation. X box fans will tell you that Xbox is very good as well. Only real advice I can give is, if you know other people who use PS then go for that, and vice versa.
Both have an on-line subscription cost, and you will need that for games updates - every game I've had has required additional down-loads for game updates at some point. Doubt you'll get much for your PS2, PS3's aren't worth much more than £50 these days.
If your budget is tight, you could get a second hand PS3 - GTA V is available for that console.0 -
I've played it on an Xbox 360, PS3 and an Xbox one, I'm an Xbox girl through and through so my Xbox one recommendation is thoroughly biased.:)0

It's a toughy. I would say Xbox One (I converted from PlayStation to Xbox), however my step brother swears by PC. Better quality and performance - mind you he does have a cracker of a PC.0

I'd say the PS4 is a better console than the Xbox One for games so from those two, i'd go for that (and that's from an old 360 fanboy)
But the PC version is leaps and bounds ahead of either if you have a PC good enough to run with the graphics on the higher settings. Otherwise still consoles. All your base are belong to us.0 -
I would ditto with going with the PC version mainly because of whats possible with the version otherwise PS4 is the next best option0

If your on a low budget and you play video games in offline single player story mode and not as an online player then you could go for a PS3 or XBOX 360 with a massive library of good cheap games like FARCRY 3 and 4 and ASSASSINS CREED 3 and 4 and AS Rogue and Metal Gear 3 and 4 and Dishonored and Batman Arkham Asylum/Origins/City and GTA 5
I have a PS3 AND PS4 and I have played AS Unity and Syndicate and MGS 5 single player on my PS4 and now this week back on my PS3 playing Red Dead RedemptionLet them eat cake (Marie Antoinette 1765)0 -

Agreed, I think it's definitely an option to consider as GTA V plays fine on the older consoles (surprisingly well actually, bought it on 360 before the X1) and there's the added bonus of a huge back catalogue of cheap and great games.
With regards to the PS4/XB1, if multiplayer is no interest then I'd look at the exclusives for each platform and see which you prefer. I chose an XB1 first for Forza/Halo and that's what more of my friends were playing online and the PS4 for the Amplitude exclusive.
