AQUA Nightmare

After years of being credit unworthy i decided to apply to Aqua (after using the card acceptance on MSE) remembering the advise to pay IN FULL the balance, so the first time of using the card was to pay the deposit for our family holiday (£254) knowing I already had the money, so when my first statement from Aqua came in I promptly and very excitedly as i couldnt believe i was finally on the road to credt worthyness went to my own bank and paid it off IN FULL using the giro slip from the statement. I was very pleased with myself until checking my online statement weeks after no payment was showing up, so I rang Aqua only to be told dont worry lets wait and see because it can take 7 working days to show up, but it never so more calls to Aqua they dont have a clue and now want proof that the money was paid and that it didnt go back into my bank account, which i have all the evidence from my bank that it was paid to Aqua the same day, surely they know where the money is because they do have it, but no one cares that it looks bad on my credit file they just keep saying "dont worry we will refund any charges" im more concerend about my credit file any help or advise would be greatly appreciated, I did make sure i paid the minimum payment on the account as extra so i didnt default on the account mean while im still £254 short on my account

I'm sure it will turn up. Paying in bank is a very slow and manual method though, so itwould be worth looking into paying by bank transfer for future payments.

Send them a copy of the stamped statement that you used the BGC slip at the bottom.

BGCs normally don't take more than 3/4 working days to reach the recipient but provided you've met Aqua's time-frame then request they remove any late payment markers.

In future, use Faster Payments as will take no longer than 2 business days from start to finish.

Yeah we figured that out! even so it should only take 5 days,I paid on the 22ndFeb for payment to reach account before 4th March this is on going from the 22nd feb 2016 but now interest charges on the account and obviously not good when trying to rebuild credit score, also Aqua should have the facilities to search for my payment its as though they want to ruin my chances of getting credit else where! have sent all evidence of payment off but I should not have to do that, has anyone else had such experience?

Without the evidence asked for it becomes a needle in a haystack situation.
  • It shouldnt do when I used their giro slip with all the details on, I have sent proof will give them one more week before I report them to the financial ombudsman get them to investigate it.

    That's not how it works...

They either need to issue a final response (not likely until the last minute unless they find the funds / they believe have proof you lied, if that was the case) or you have to wait 8 weeks from the date your complaint was lodged.

You've not given any dates, but given you've not mentioned any missed payments, it cannot have been one month yet...
