Switching to Yorkshire + DD timeline query

I would like to switch my new Lloyds account to Yorkshire Bank, the deadline being the 31st March (unless this offer is removed before then).
Problem is that the 2 x direct debits to Lloyds won't go in until the 8th April at the earliest.

Does this mean I will miss the deadline, or can I apply for the Yorkshire account on the 30th for example, and as long as the switch itself is completed after the 8th April it will be okay?

Thanks

I have just switched and you are able to pick your switch date in same position as you so I choose a date in middle if April I did ask them on Twitter and was told as long it goes through by 31st may would be OK

  • Hi Steveing

so you have asked and they confirmed that if account is opened on 29th march for example and switch happens on 8th april, do you still qualify for £150 bonus.

My 2 direct debits are not showing at all in my Lloyds account, so presumably it will be the 8th April when they are paid out that this happens.

I just hope that as long as the direct debits are paid out of my Lloyds account before the 'switch date', Yorkshire bank accept these as qualifying direct debits for their offer.

I think I will make the switch date for around the 19th April, just in case of delays.
