Its the last day of the month and time for adding up the figures . As of today i have £16,948.43 exactly meaning almost £17,000 i can hardly believe it ,i am so very pleased .
Food budget going well ,buying and eating lots of healthy food ,shame about the treats but i will try tackling that next .
Millionaire challenge still completely at a standstill ,i am not going to worry about that until the new year i will just keep relisting in the meantime .
All coal for 5 or 6 months has been bought for the aga and all wood for our 2 woodburners has been given by various people and all collected and chopped by my wonderful husband who again has worked so hard this month to make the majority of the savings .
Thank you themadvix for your kind and reassuring words .I really must try harder to post every day the trouble is i get carried away reading so many diaries and never then have time to reply or to write in my own0 -
I know the feeling TH - and I'm happy to read, but sometimes the effort of focusing on writing is too much!
maybe we should make it a NY's challenge!

The first of the month and i have added up as accurately as possible what my husband will be earning this month then taken off the bills for the month and food and diesel for two cars then i have subtracted my expenses three birthdays ,two firework parties, lots of small presents for grandchildrens advent calendars ready for the first of December and childrens chocolate calendars and a new sofa for the kitchen so savings this month wont be so great so target is £17,500 i will be very happy with that ,now to stick to the budget ,lots of listing to do too this month .0

Sorry ,thank you themadix and saving-mad ,my mortgage is around £166,000 now so i have gone slightly over the 10% which is even better as it has taken me around 18 months to get to this point so i am way off target to hit my 10 year plan at the minute still every penny counts so i will try not to be too disheartened i am still very pleased with what i have saved so far.0

hello, I am new to the mfw boards. I have been lurking for a while but registered a few days ago. I am still working up to my own diary but I thought that I would pop in and say hello. I havent read all of your diary yet but your first post and the last two pages seem really positive so I hope you dont mind if I draw up my chair by your aga and learn from you.
I am also in my 50s and have a mortgage that I am solely responsible for that I wish to be rid of. I am intrigued by the millionaires challenge so I am going to go back and read your diary to find out more. I have to go to work now but will catch up later. I am pressing the subscribe button.0
