.opus file converter?

Just curious really ..

Someone sent me a 'voice recording' over Whatapp to my Android phone.

I e mailed it to my brother who doesn't have Whatsapp.
It won't play on his Windows7 PC
I've downloaded two different converters, which both said 'invalid file'

It's no big deal, but wondered if there was a workaround???

The opus file will probably play OK on Windows7 with VLC media player.
From here ---> http://www.videolan.org/

Otherwise, convert it to mp3 or whatever with an FFmpeg based file converter.
For example, WinFF from here ---> http://winff.org/html_new/

Already tried that - I have ver 2.1.2 - doesn't work

A quick search throws up lots of results for conversion tools from .opus to other formats, have you tried them and found they don't work? Here are a couple of examples:

OK, maybe Whatapp is using a version of opus that FFmpeg can't handle (yet).
Post a sample file somewhere if you need more help to convert/play these files.

Erm, I installed it X years and months ago. It worked then ans still does now.

I've tried:-
i video converter
TAC
Opus-mp3
WinFF

None worked!

I can play it fine on my phone, just nowhere else!!

.opus files should play on the latest version of VLC Player – well they do on my system anyway.

Try another audio file convertor. I have found this one has so far handled anything I have thrown at it…
