Is there a way to keep youtube playing in background?

I don't know but i am kind of person who likes to listen music on youtube but i have to keep my phone's screen on (cannot lock phone) to keep video playing . Is there any way by which I can play youtube in background with chrome. I know that can be done through mozilla firefox and i also blogged about it on my blog. But my phone has very less built in storage so cannot keep firefox in my phone just for the sake of playing youtube. Help would be appreciated...

What phone? What OS? I'm sure there are android apps that allow it....

If it's for listening to music then you'd probably be better using something like Spotify for the following reasons:

1. It's designed to play in the background
2. You'd save on data transfer as you wouldn't be steaming a video
3. Possibly better quality audio, as half the videos on YouTube seem to be made by people filming their TV screen with a mobile phone.

If it's an iPhone you can listen via Safari.

When the 'phone locks wake the screen and press 'play' on the music controls.

But I agree a streaming app might be a much better option.
