at fairs, events, car boots or just general high street? thanks in advance. we are thinking of doing healthy or/and alternative food (pancakes / waffles). should i just get a stall for a one off to try it out or does it take time like a shop to get established. any tips appreciated. thanks in advance.

i do

i run a sweet stall at weekends at one regular location and the other is pre booked fairs and events
the only thing we needed was a current health and hygiene certificate which i update online each year just for the sake of it.
there are lots of companies online that you can take a basic certificate without having to physically go on a course for. they are all above board and are recognised my the royal institute of public health.
make sure you have a covered stall too as people get kinda put off if you display foods in the full sun for obvious reasons
good luck with your adventureIf You See Someone Without A Smile......Give Them One Of Yours0 -
before you spend any money ,get some pitches organised first ,people think they can buy a unit and trade , trust me it doesnt work that way0

I totally agree, a pitch is very hard to find.
When I bought a food/burger van I emailed & phoned many people regarding a pitch, but many had big companies in or regulars they had for years.
By chance I eventually got lucky
Perhaps try your local town events first, fun days, boot sales , jumble sale etc. Contact local schools for their opens days & events. Advertise locally too.
I had to contact my local council before I started trading, so the Enviromental Health people knew I was trading in their area. Not only can they check your stall, van etc to make sure everything is ship shape, they are there to help too!!
I also have to display my hygiene certificate & my Liability ins cert too.
Hope this is some help, good luck!
