Red/Brown dust

Hi guys
Hoping someone can help, as I am thinking the worst case scenario right now!
Previous owners of the house we moved into had ceiling coving all around the house which looks all artex style. They have bodged together curtain rails made of wood and drilled them into the walls just below the coving on the ceiling.
They are hideous and we want to put our own rails up which are actual rails and not just blocks of wood!
So I removed one of these blocks of wood, but when removing, a crack between the coving and wall has appeared (assuming when I pulled the wood blocks off). Some red/brown dust dropped from the cracks in the coving.
Is this asbestos or something less harmful? Am I being way over the top? There's obviously nothing I can do about it now as it's in the air and in our living room!!

If it's red it probably is brick dust, however if you are removing artex, care should be taken as older artex does contain asbestos. There is guidance on hse web I believe0
