September holiday with 2 year old

Looking for recommendations for a holiday in September with a 2 year old. I've looked at all the usual AI resorts etc but we quite like things to see/do. It seems he'd be too young for the kids clubs anyhow as most start at 3 years old.
Budget reasonably flexible, he's flown quite a few times so don't mind too much what length of flight, ideally 7-10 days. Suggestions please?

What sort of things do you like to see/do?Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

We usually go for 4-5 night city breaks but have more time to play with this year. We like wandering around, seeing the sights, museums, zoos, parks etc. We went to Prague last year and really enjoyed it.0

Most of the Med resorts will still be nice and warm in September and a lot quieter so it really depends on what you want to do.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0

2 resort holiday, Barcelona and Valencia.
Culture, beaches, great food and should still be the best part of mid 20's plus temperature."Man invented language to satisfy his deep need to complain."

That sounds great Teahfc! What would be the best way to go about booking something like that?0

We go to Salou mostly, yes it's bit Blackpool in the sun, however, it is a good center to do the pool/beach thing whilst more scenic and cultural stuff is a cheap bus ride away, even Barcelona is easy and cheap to get too, however, I wouldn't recommend Barcelona with a 2 year old even late summer, it's crammed, best to do this in the winter months.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0

I think with a toddler and only 7/10 days, a two centre holiday might be better than trying to cover more destinations.
In Spain, Barcelona and Valencia would work well together - not too far apart, both wonderful cities with beaches. In Italy, you could look at combining somewhere like Lake Garda with Venice as a good contrast.0 -

You would need a car, fly into Barcelona but avoid 11th September as that is the national day of Catalonia and can get crazy busy.
Plenty to see and do in Barca, then you could get the train to Valencia.
How exciting for a toddler to get on a train !
Valencia once again very relaxed, good transport system, clean, good hotels, beach and culture.
I have a property in Murcia but find Valencia a wonderful place to go ..and home to Paella !!!
Them fly out of Valencia back home ... Sorted."Man invented language to satisfy his deep need to complain."

Good advice, but why the car? You certainly don't need one in either city and you're suggesting a train in between the two.0
