He's probably more annoyed at people who still think that Gary Glitter/PC World jokes are amusing close to 19 years after the actual incident occurred.0 -
I think is more a case of whatever search engine you used bringing up expired ads, I just ran a Google search for a MacBook Pro and it also shows John Lewis as being £200 off selected macs but I can't find any on their website with that offer.
It's a common vent on the praise vents and warnings boards about search engines showing different offers and pricing to the actual shops website.0 -

A 'mute' post would be completely dumb. :rotfl:
A 'moot' point is what you mean, but note that 'moot' has two slightly different meanings:
a) subject to debate, dispute, or uncertainty
b) having little or no practical relevance
</pedant>Yes....Damn spellchucker. (My excuse)......thank you...:o
Thats only because they add £150 to it at the outset!
The after sales service and PC repair service are a different story....:)Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

I love the quip at Gary, lol.
I still have a HDD somewhere which has a sticker on it saying "Do no touch, has customer data", which The Tech Guys attached a few years back. Wasn't even aware they were allowed to go through files without permission, unless maybe they're not allowed now.
My current PC came from PC World, a present. I'd have preferred to have made one, but the individual (mother) was very insistent. It was a reduced display model, best specs for the price range (£500). AMD A10 3.5GHz, 16GB, 3TB HDD. All fine and dandy, but tiny MB factor mean it has no extra expansion slots and onboard graphics is rubbish. Had to end up buying a DVI to VGA connector. Also not enough rails, so had to steal from the CD drive.
Brought it home, and it was still in demo mode. Had to keep resetting the BIOS as it wouldn't boot. Brought it back and had to be sent away from a new MB. Got it back and Demo mode was still on it, so had to get it serviced again. Was offered a generous £200 discount, but decided not when one of their colleagues realised the next best PC up cost about a grand. Right pain in the a*se!
On top of that, they sold my mother 5 copies of McAfee AV for some reason. All she wanted was Office 365...0
