Morning,
Hubby went onto Amazon Video on our Samsung TV & began watching "Godzilla". We do have Amazon prime so we thought this was included. He didn't watch all of the film, just the first 15 mins or so.
I popped out & came back, an email was in my inbox to say I've been charged £17.99 for Godzilla. No message came up when he started to watch the film to say we would be charged.
Have spoken to CS at Amazon & they are refunding even though they're not supposed to, as we had started watching it.
A lesson learnt, no going to use it again. As I'm sure they won't refund a second time.

I don't know how he's done that. I use Amazon video all the time and it's impossible to watch a none prime video without going through lots of steps to confirm you're happy to pay for it.0

As JR says, if you choose a payable video to watch, the first screen you go to is one that states "Available from £xxx."
Once you've clicked on this, you get to another page where the options are available to let you opt to buy or rent, and again, the prices for these are choices are shown.
I wouldn't be surprised if there is a further "buy now" or "pay now" tab to press after you've made you choice to rent or buy but I've not gone past the first two screens.
Are you sure about the price?
The only options that I could see were SD for £5.99 and HD for £7.990 -
It was ultra HD, I was there when he did it & there were no confirmation screens or anything about the cost. The price was £18.99 minus a £1 promotion!Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670

Went onto Amazon to look for the blu ray for the same film. It's £4.70... anyway someone had left this review on Amazon, so it seems I'm not the 1st person to do it.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670

It was the rubbish Godzilla!
I'm guessing Shaun didn't check the prices for that version0 -
You're right, I didn't.
I checked the newest Godzilla film (2014 I think).
£18.99 for a rubbish Godzilla!
For that amount I think I would want a live dinosaur show in my front garden.0 -
I think you can set up a PIN payment system to stop the little 'uns accidentally ordering loads of pay to view films - might be getting confused between Now TV and Amazon, but worth exploring.0

I have Prime and have never had this issue but I will look out for it- can't fault Amazon's CS for refunding!0

thank you for letting us know, i will be careful0

That was definitely Godzilla 98 (the Emmerich version); "That's a lot of fish."
Not regarded very highly amongst fans of the Godzilla franchise.0
