Petition against KC promoting GSD with sloping backs

Options
Following on from the uproar over a GSD with a deformed sloping back winning best of breed, a petition has been set up in an attempt to ban the Kennel Club from promoting this.

As a long time GSD owner myself, and of dogs from working lines with STRAIGHT BACKS, I'm disgusted that this is not only allowed but actively promoted within the breed. These dogs have horrendous spinal and hip problems. The Kennel Club should be ashamed of themselves. They've ruined so many dogs with their ridiculous show standards.

Please sign the petition below if you agree with me:

Here's the footage of it they cut from the tv programme:

How on earth can anyone judge this poor dog to best of breed? It's not even comfortable being in a show ring. I'm literally horrified!

She was very unsettled. Did you hear the whistling- double handling? A common thing in showing GSD'SM
She looks as if she was looking around for the person who usually encourages from outside the ring.

I have seen them knock people out of the way as they run round the ring for the dog to follow from inside the ring. Obviously, they can't do that at Crufts but coughs and whistles can be utilised.

Crufts is an experience like no other for a dog. It is crowded, noisy and hot. Tannoys are blaring.

Before the best in show there is a trumpet voluntary which must be a horrific noise for a dog with sensitive hearing.

Some dogs thrive in that environment- my retriever did, she loved it much to my surprise- but others don't want to know.

This has solved a puzzle for me. I was watching crufts on their YouTube channel but for some reason, the pastoral group judging was not shown. Only a quick video of the group winner. The class is on the channel now, but they skim over the GSD. It's literally only a few seconds, and they don't show him moving around the ring.

I can see why now. What was that judge thinking?!!. The poor dog looks deformed and crippled. Even without the back issues, it's a nervous wreck in the ring. How on earth did it win its's class? It's such a shame.

At least we do have good breeders who care about their dogs and produce beautiful, strong, healthy GSD's.

Here is the best of breed judging. This is the judge who out her up- not the best in show judge.

She is much happier here when gaiting out in front. However, she still is looking around her ( for someone?)

She is not happy when showing with the dog. her handler has her strung up on the lead, holding her back.
