Toilet seat trouble

I don't think I've ever found a loo seat to fit my loo properly, they are wobble, go funny, I try another brand......
Usually something breaks as it comes loose.

Anyway I was looking on Bemis website & by mistake I must have gone to the us site.
Anyway it asked if it was round or elongated, so I measured & it's 18 inches long, elongated.

Most uk loo seats seem to be shorter - round.

Have I got a funny sized loo?

Sounds like you don't have much to go on at the moment.

Seems like it! Ours are all 16" normal shaped loo seats (by Bemis). Looking on Amazon 18" seems normal though, I wonder if that includes the hinges.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

I always buy Celmac Thermosetting plastic toilet seats for my rentals. They seem to last for ages.

Just to update - I got the bemis (I think it's the New York soft close) it's great.

That's interesting - I had a bathroom from Homebase and the seat cracked after my son fell over onto it. I tried a standard replacement seat and it was a couple of inches too short - it sounds like this Bemis one would have been the solution!

Luckily the accident happened shortly after it was fitted so I took it into the shop and complained to Homebase that it was poor quality/faulty as a two year old really shouldn't have made the thing crack in two, and they replaced it with another 'original' one.

totally unrelated to the thread, but I just had a soft close toilet seat fitted in our new d/s loo - I was full of harrumph when my wife suggested it, but soft-close together with the quick-release feature for cleaning, it is absolutely brilliant (with 2 little boys, it'll be invaluable in the future)... :rotfl:
