Small inexpensive sander or grinder?
justaquestion

Hi folks,
I have an internal wall with a few bumps in plaster at bottom and also where some of the plaster has come off. I have fixed it with polyfill but though I tried sandpaper and a sandpaper block to level the bumps, no good.
Anyone know of a small inexpensive sander or grinder that will work and help to level the bumps on plaster?
Thanks

I usually use a 1/3 sheet sander such as this. You can make your own sheets by cutting up standard sandpaper or buy 1/3 sheets pre cut

Thanks a lot for both replies. This one would be just up my street at just over £13, but I wonder would it be able to sand down plaster bumps on wall?
Many thanks for the help.0 -
I used the Hitachi on a dodgy wall, and it worked fine, but that was only necessary because someone had used something other than 'normal' plaster to fill in some chasing.
It's a good wee sander.0 -
Thanks for reply, had a look at the manual for the screwfix one and it says not to be used on plaster, ah well....and I liked it and the price as well.

Maybe will have a go at getting rid of the plaster bumps with a hand held file or some other idea.
Thanks again0 -

It will be fine to use for your intended purpose.0 -
How big are these bumps?. Try some very coarse paper. Next time don't put so much filler on.justaquestion wrote: »Maybe will have a go at getting rid of the plaster bumps with a hand held file or some other idea.0 -
My experience is with a repainting a dining table and using polyfilla to fill a broken tile(as a temporary job)
I bought a mouse sander from a big online site for around £15- it comes with velcro hook and loop type. the triangle shaped sanding paper were absolute useless.
I bought 5m rolls of @Oakey 60 and 120 grit' from screwfix and never been happier. I used some silicon glue to stick it to the used triangle shaped sanding paper - and saving me loads of money.“Don't raise your voice, improve your argument." - Desmond Tutu
