Vodaphone Issue

Hello I wonder if anyone can help. I have checked my credit file with Experian and found my score has been lowered due to Vodaphone putting information on that I defaulted on a £79 payment 4 years ago even though I paid the debt in full. There is no mention of the fact that I had a dispute with Vodaphone or any other relevant information (I finally paid the debt because they would not negotiate with me, would not allow me to cancel the phone contract even though the phone had been lost and nor would the give me a replacement SIM card).
As it is 4 years ago I no longer have the phone number nor the account number and when I managed to contact Vodaphone they had no record of me as a customer yet they managed to put this information on my file and have responded to Experian but given me no information on how to contact them. Therefore I have no way currently of being able to speak to anyone to discuss this issue to get it removed from my file.
Has anyone had a similar issue recently and have a way of contacting his company without these numbers? I have looked online and noticed there are a high number of people that Vodaphone have done this to and in most cases the information is incorrect as does not represent the truth. Their appalling customer service is the worst I have come across .

they are a nightmare i have had a similiar ish problems with them

Write with a formal complaint, stating that unless resolved within 8 weeks, you will be taking the case to their ombudsman and the ICO.
