    Morning all,

    Hope everyone is well :)

Sun is shining - need to make the most of it as it looks very wet for the next few days :(

We have the little bloke coming to stay for a couple of days, we are off to pick him up very soon.

Happy Easter to you all :)
  • Good morning everyone

After yesterday's rain its a beautiful sunny day here. I have just hung out my first load of towels and got a second in the wm.

DH has gone to work. DS is off to work in while so it will just be me and DD. I will see if she would like a trip up to Bluewater as I have a JL voucher I won a while ago to spend and she would like some new underwear.

I need to go food shopping at some point as well, last night DH and I went through our account, so I know how little I have to spend:D

Yesterday I cleaned all through the house, so I can relax over the weekend. DD and I go back on Tuesday for 4 days and then we have our 2 week Easter break, very strange this year, still I'm looking forward to it as there is loads I want to do in the house and garden.

Have a good day everyone x.

    Happy Easter :easter:

Thank you TA, I should know really, it is hardly a new bus pass but I tend to avoid going out on bank holidays, everything seems so busy. Or I could see if the mister would like to get off his grumpybum and ferry me about.

This morning, after a night out, my son had two hot cross buns, four waffle things and he was still hungry.
I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back

Done a machine load of knickers which are blowing merrily in the cold wind. Done all three small rooms in the back of the house, banged the small off cuts of carpet against the wall and only got some skirting so to clean.

I've been looking at apartment hotels in Melbourne - my oldest nephew and I could stay with my sister-law if pushed but she'll have at least her two other sons and their partners I expect. Plus her very aged father has dementia and will be confused and anxious so, perhaps, it's best if we stay elsewhere. It's so frustrating this not knowing!

Ah well, I'll focus on having a good weekend here. Good friends can always soothe anxiety.
  • Good Afternoon everyone, what a lovely day it is out there, I have 2 wash loads on the line flapping merrily in the breeze and virtually dry already. I love getting the dry washing in, it always smells so nice. He Who Knows has gone off to town to pick up DD1 who is en route on the train and to pick up a couple of bits and pieces while he's in there, I have Bolognese sauce simmering away on the stove so the house smells of 'home' and we don't have a Cookie to walk for a couple of days as she's staying with her 'Grandma' while the family celebrate a 16th birthday, hope they have a smashing time. I'm almost packed for Sweden on Sunday, just waiting for my experienced daughter to cast an eye over it to tell me what I'm missing, I'm so looking forward to our trip whilst being just slightly apprehensive about airports at this time, natural I suppose but I'm feeling like a wimp!! He Who Knows has a whole freezer drawer full of home done meals if he needs them and a big jar of crumble mix in the fridge so he'll not starve while we're away.

Have yourselves a nice afternoon everyone, I hope you've all got some of this sunshine, it's lovely out there, Lyn xxx.

    Afternoon all.

I'm in bed. I'm ok but very tired. Hubby kept me awake most of the night hugging me and snoring in my ear. It's hard to sleep when you feel like your in a straight jacket so while he is washing and polishing his car I thought I'd have a nap....well that was the idea until he rang me to ask me to make him a drink.

Went to see Mom this morning. She was at deaths door again. Shrunken and shrivelled. She's not eating or drinking I was told but she drank 300mls of juice for me. Maybe if the girls sat with her and held the juice to her lips instead of filling in charts, care plan forms and other paperwork that keeps them busy they could spend more time with the residents. I'm not criticising them...just the care system in place. Of course it could be Mother only drinking because I'm giving it to her. If so I feel pretty guilty for leaving her on Tuesday. She always did have a way of controlling me.

Beautiful weather but I'll try and have another sleep.

Enjoy the sun! I hope it lasts.

  • Well I have given the new Dyson a workout. I am very pleased with it, could not believe what it got out of the carpet.

I also decided to stam clean the kitchen and the rug in front of the sink which had a nasty mark on it. All done and sparkly now. Laundry dried on the line, I have folded it and put it away, also have done four more blocks for the quilt. OH made a cup of tea so I sat and finished reading my book.

TV is all over the place, we do not usually eat in the sitting room, but will be doing tonight as there is a programme on OH wants to watch.

Welcome to our new member Speky .
Well my kitchen revamp has morphed into a complete house rewire and a lot of unplanned work which is way beyond the original plan or budget .
Everything needs to fit around my daughters medical needs so I have been feeling pretty low the last week or so and barely posted on the forums .
As Scarlett said Tomorrow is another day so I will give my brain some respite and start finding a plan B after easter
    Take care all

Lyn Hope you and Nell have a lovely time , if I had to travel anywhere I would be confident with either or both of you . Neither of you will be tapping on your phone or distracted by anything . I hope the only disruption you may encounter will be hold ups due to security checks which you've had before and had the food and drink with you as a matter of course .
Remember the Frank Herbert quote " I must not fear "
Have a wonderful time . As someone with Scandi roots I look forward to hearing your adventures when you return .
Virtual tin hat on and go and enjoy !!!
