Endsleigh motor renewal hike

Just to post that my motor premium last year was £232, but the renewal from Endsleigh received this week was £1042!!!!

The firm said that it was because they had lost Royal Sun Alliance as an underwriter. I cannot believe that is the whole story and that they could not find me another underwriter with a premium of around £300 or less. I have had no claims for 8 years and am on on the maximum no claims (protected). My premiums have gone down over recent years from the 400s to 300s and 200s. I am 58.

What's going on?

Endsleigh will be losing a lot of business.

  • Happens all the time. It may be on their panel that RSA quoted considerably cheaper than everyone else on your risk (same happened at the company I work for). RSA changed all their terms on what they'd quote on, meaning a lot of former RSA customers saw huge price hikes because nobody else on the panel will quote on the risk. From my experience tends to be expensive cars with business use (but not always). They aren't lying. You can always just go elsewhere.

Privilege are a far better Insurer in my opinion than RSA.

They're part of the Direct Line group, DL are not on comparison sites, try going on the DL website (Ideally through a cashback site such as Topcashback or Quidco for an extra £15 off) and getting a quote
