Hi. My Mother in law was cold called by a company and pursuaded to sign up to a plusnet telephone deal. She kept telling them she didn't have a computer but they've used a fake email account and a username and password she doesn't know! Plusnet are saying it's nothing to do with them and the other company (a comparison service) who said they must have signed up so nothing we can do. As it stands she has a different phone number, can't access her account and we need to try and sort it out and she's given them her bank account details. Can anyone help? She has been told in no uncertain terms what a stupid thing it was to do. She's not going to get anything in writing as its all been sent to an email address she doesn't know!!!

She should phone her bank first off and explain what's happened, they should be able to stop any payments going to this company.
2nd she should report it to the police as it sounds like a case of identity theft/fraud#141 - Save £3k in 2016 challenge - #141
