Switching to Halifax from Lloyds

I am looking into switching a Current Account at the moment.
One of the few offers available is the Halifax. The account I was hoping to switch from was with Lloyds however looking at the Halifax switching t&cs it quotes:
"You are not eligible for the offer if you have previously received any other offer or benefits for switching to a Halifax bank account at any point since January 2012 or if you're a Bank of Scotland bank account customer switching to the Halifax."
So presumably I can't switch and get the bonus this way.
I have only just opened the Lloyds account. If I were to close it straightaway (the t&cs suggest I can close it at any time, for any reason), would I then be eligible for the Halifax switch (as long as I used a bank outside of their Group to switch from)?
I presume this switching clause is the same where banking 'groups' are concerned, so will swot up on which banks are in which group.
Thanks

I switched one of my Lloyds account to HX about 18 months ago and got the bonus.0 -
Thanks for your quick reply.
Hmmm, does that mean they have changed the terms since you switched or that I am reading it entirely wrong (which is entirely possible)?0 -
You are over thinking it0

Unless I'm missing something here, there's nothing in the Halifax Ts & Cs that affects a Lloyds account holder, just Bank of Scotland (hardly surprising when Halifax is Bank of Scotland!). Why do you think you'd have a problem switching a Lloyds account into Halifax?0

Because google says the parent organisation: lloyds banking group,
so I thought they must all be under the same 'umbrella'.
Like I said, I need to look into which bank groups void any switching elements (for future switches too).
It's great if I can go ahead with Lloyds to possibly switch to the Halifax though. I know I have just missed out on the £125 offer. Am also considering Yorkshire bank.
Thank you to everyone for their input so far0 -
BoS and Halifax and one of the same thing but although Lloyds is part of the group as in LBG it is not the same bank! So you can switch from a Lloyds account as the T&C do not say you can't! If you have a BoS and a Halifax account you will normally see them listed on both banks online profiles whichever one you log into will show the other. They are the same bank.0

Lloyds buying BOS had nothing to do with BOS Halifax from 2001SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0

Lloyds and HBOS hold separate banking licences so in all essence are two different banks - so at it stands you can switch from Lloyds to Halifax and vice versa and collect any reward if you fulfil the reward conditions.0
