Should I pay or ignore?

Hi all. So I received a parking charge notice from a company in Newcastle called nps. I overstayed in a car park and for a ticket. Unfortunately I was away when the letter came and I missed the appeal period. I now have a letter saying if I don't pay 100 pounds in 7 days I will be taken to court etc.
Now I've read a lot about this today but I am still a bit unclear as to weather ignoring this letter could end up having a negative effect on my and my wife!

Help!?

Thanks in advance!!!!

Northern Parking Services? If so they are IPC members and thus a cowboy appeals service only is available.

Ignoring has not been advised since the law changed in 2012 making keepers liable.

I suggest you read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES then send the IPC template questionnaire you will find within even though they say you are outside the appeal deadline.
Changes in EU law last year say that appeals should be allowed (Alternative Dispute Resolution) for up to a year, and it will make you look reasonable should they decide to take this further.

"It is the will of Parliament, as a result of the EU Consumer Rights Directive, that ADRs must imminently be made available for not less than a year."

Nobody here will advise you to pay.

  • I strongly advise you fight it all the way. I am aware this company writes a lot of tickets. London address is postal box, actually use a residential address. Company is known for lack of integrity & quotes jargon from official documents.

Neither of those - choose the 3rd option.
