US Dollar bank account for paying in US cheques

My daughter is a freelance journalist and will be receiving US dollar cheques in the post every two weeks for smallish amounts £200 to £400 equivalent.

Are there any specific banks she should be looking at, to reduce the charges, she currently receives paypal payments but they are stopping this in favour of US dollar cheques.

Any ideas or experiences?

The consensus is that $ cheques are best to be avoided if possible.

Your daughter should refuse to accept payment in the form of USD cheques, gently explaining that they are not negotiable outside the United States without considerable trouble and expense, a fact which many Americans are unaware of.
