Swift Motorhome floor rotting

We have just been told at our motorhome service that the floor on our 10 year old motorhome has rotted out and will cost £4000 to repair. This is apparently a common problem with Swift motorhomes of this age caused by missing sealant on manufacture. swift admit it was a manufacturing problem, they were aware of it in 2011/2012 and did not recall the motorhomes because 'not all were affected'. Has anyone had success in getting them to pay for this fault which they knew about and ignored?

Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

Latent defect time limits is either 6 years from purchase or 3 years from when you became aware (or should have reasonably been aware) of the issue - whichever is the latter of the two (subject to an overall 15 year limitation period)

So whether you are able to claim will hinge on whether you should have been reasonably aware of it before now or not.

Should be easy enough to show with records/receipts for regularly damp checks that the issue has only presented itself now so you could not have been reasonably aware before now that it was an issue.
