PIP payments - missing money

Options
I'm asking this on behalf of my disabled brother(47); officially my dad (83) is his carer; but I had to handle his paperwork for transition from DLA to PIP.

Now, as I understood it, he should not have lost out financially.

But ...

His last DLA (weekly payment) was on 25 Jan 16 for £104.10.

His first PIP (for some reason changed to 4 weekly) was on 25 Feb 16
for £356.91 [So 31 days wait for roughly 24 days money]
28 days later and he got 4 weeks money.

I assume PIP and DLA are paid in arrears.

So what happened to the missing days?
And more importantly how do I get him back on weekly without being messed about some more. Last time my 83yo. dad had to sub him and as payment now seems to be 5 weeks in arrears he has continued to do so.

Here's a table of payments to show what he would have been paid if still on DLA and what he was paid on PIP:-

Due................DLA.................DLA TOT......PIP..........PIP TOT
25 Jan 16........£104.10 - last payment of DLA
01 Feb 16........£104.10...........£104.10.......*******..*******
08 Feb 16........£104.10...........£208.20.......*******..*******
15 Feb 16........£104.10...........£312.30.......*******..*******
22 Feb 16........£104.10...........£416.40.......*******..*******
25 Feb 16........*******..........*******.......£356.91..£356.91
29 Feb 16........£104.10...........£520.50.......*******..*******
07 Mar 16........£104.10...........£624.60.......*******..*******
14 Mar 16........£104.10...........£728.70.......*******..*******
21.Mar.16........£104.10...........£832.80.......*******..*******
24 Mar 16........*******..........*******.......£416.40..£773.31
28 Mar 16........£104.10...........£936.90.......*******..*******

Hope you can make sense of what I've put...

Cheers
Michael

PIP can only normally be paid weekly if the claimant is terminally ill, Otherwise it's paid every 4 weeks.

I don't know about missing money, Have you called DWP to get them to explain..

Hmm, makes no sense then. You might want to phone them and see what's going on.

It's because of the change in payment frequency. If you add it up over 52 weeks it's the same

    The amount due for the tax year 2015-16 was £104.10 x 52 = £5413.20.

Up to and including 25 Jan 2015 he had received 43 payments. £4476.30.

    £5413.20 - £4476.30 = £936.90 which is what he has received.

He will get 13 payments of £416.40 - which equates to the same as 52 payments of £104.10.

The missing money will be down to the change in payment cycle, as week 1 of the first payment period was paid as DLA.
