I feel your pain although mine was much smaller. I managed to contain he mess by putting up plastic sheeting like a crime scene! Any pics?0 -

Having scrubbed the bricks down now, I definitely need to repoint some areas. I've seen online some premixed cement/mortar in tubes that you can use in a gun, like caulk or wood filler. Any idea where
I can find that as homebase dont seem to have? Cheers0 -
If you are going to just repoint isolated areas you will have to match the colour of the mortar or it will look very patchy. You will be surprised how much colour variation there is depending on type and colour of sand, brand of cement or lime, strength of the mix. It will go from almost white to dark grey or a bright orange.
Do some small samples to check the colour once it has set and dried out or repoint the entire area.0 -

Premixed mortar sounds like a disaster waiting to happen to me.
use http://www.screwfix.com/p/roughneck-brick-mortar-gun/67965 and colour match the best you can. When finished the pointing leave three days and wash with http://www.jewson.co.uk/building-materials/chemicals/other-building-chemicals/products/LECBPC05/jewson-brick-26-patio-cleaner-5l/0 -
So I got the brick wall almost done over the weekend. Was hard work and very messy but containing it all within hanging dust sheets was a huge help!
Just need to tidy up the edges and the surrounding walls, as have stripped the wallpaper and filled, repainted them etc.
Be great to get your feedback!
