                    Hi there,
New to credit because I never usually use it but this month I have a bill (£1200) due in 2 days and i'm not able to pay it - and it's very important. I have £1600 coming in over the next 2 weeks but it won't come in time so borrowing is the only option. Can someone advise the best thing to use, I was thinking a barclaycard or halifax card as i'm already with both of them, i've never had card problems in the past so I think im ok but I just would hopefully like to borrow around £1000 without having to pay a lot of interest and I could pay it back within 7-14 days of borrowing it, but I would hopefully need to be approved and have the money in the next day or so?
Any help is really appreciated!!

If the bill you need to pay will accept a card payment, and you have the available limit, then yes, you could use one of your cards to pay it.
But if you don't already have the card, you won't have one in two days. Normally takes around 2 weeks. Metrobank would be the only immediate option.0

Well it needs to be paid through paypal, if I use credit on anything I've always used paypal credit but sadly as this needs to be made to another account I cannot use paypal credit
Yeah the problem is basically I need to pay 1200 tomorrow but wont get that money from my own funds until next week so it's basically finding a payment solution in the meantime
Do they have a quick credit card or something? Do you know if it has a large fee to pay if I were to borrow £1000 for a week or two?0

Metrobank produce cards in store I believe - at least for current accounts. I don't know if the same applied to their credit cards. You would need to make an appointment to go to one of their branches in London.
Do you have/could you get an overdraft?
To be honest, this may be one of those exceptional times where a PDL may be appropriate.
I've never typed that sentence before.0

Great, I think i'll call them first to make sure.
I just tried to apply for one but wasn't able to get it - probably because paypal is the main thing I use for work and only really use a debit card when I can't use paypal
Yeah it's looking like a PDL might be it, never thought i'd have to stoop to using one of those in my life haha0

Have you spoken to your bank to see if they would be willing to give you an overdraft? Might be a better option than a pay day lender?0

Would it be possible to speak to the person/company that you owe the money to, see if they'd be prepared to give you a few days' grace ? Even if they impose some sort of "admin fee", it may work out cheaper overall ? Just a thought.0
