Can anyone recommend a good book on how to maintain a car?

The Haynes manual for that car is a good place to start

Haynes manuals are car specific and sadly, not as good as they used to be.

See if your local College or Adult Learning Centre run vehicle maintenance night classes.

The Car Book by Haynes is more general, and applies to all makes of car. RRP is £17.99, but is cheaper from some of the online booksellers - e.g. the book can be delivered to your local WH Smith branch for £12.59.
